Today I woke up and ate breakfast with Justin and Sarah. Then we went out to meet the missionaries in Lyon (there are a TON in this city) and to get me a bus pass. I wanted to wear a fake moustache for my busspass picture, but we couldn't find one in time, so I settled for making a confused and frightened face.
Then we went to a way nice park called La Tete d'Or, that has a zoo, and a nice lake inside of it. We had fun watching the monkeys beat the crap out of each other for a choice spot on a log. Gotta love monkeys. Then we went up on top of the hill to an old cathedral and sat in on a catholic mass. I've been to a few masses in Italy, and I loved the experience of hearing it in French for the first time. I really enjoy catholic mass. It's beautiful. Then, since the cathedral is up on a hill, behind the cathedral there's a panoramic view of the entire city of Lyon. We enjoyed the view for a while, then came down and ate a kebab and a gelato, a must while in Europe. Then we met up with some of Justin's friends from school. They're a fun group of guys, and we had fun together. We all went to a pub for some beers (Justin and I drank Mate instead) and watched a soccer game. Then we came home to make pizzas and watch a movie. A pretty chill day, but I really enjoyed it. I don't really like being in big cities for too long, but I've really enjoyed what I've experienced so far of Lyon. It has all the great architecture and food of Paris but without the ghettoness.
A demain!
