There's just something about Europe. Whenever I'm in the U.S. I miss it and wish I was back here, but as soon as I'm here, it feels like I never left. It just has such a familiar and homely feeling to it that I can't explain. Needless to say, I love it here. I'm taking advantage of the fact that I'm so close to the Italian border to buy all sorts of Italian food that I missed so much. Mozzarella di Bufala and Prosciutto Crudo!!!!!!
Now I'm living in Sarah's parent's house. It's a super old three story house in the French countryside. The outside walls are all stone, and the interior is all wood. It's all open, or in other words, the floors are all connected with open space and just wooden spiral staircases connect the balconies on the inside. I know that's really confusing, but I don't know how else to explain it. Basically, you can see from the third floor to the first floor cause it's all one big room separated by wooden floors that don't go all the way across the building. Make sense?
My french is coming along great. I'd say my level of French has now passed my level of Russian, and I can hold longer and longer conversations with people. This morning we watched a movie in French and I understood 70% of the words, and could piece together the rest from context and from guessing what was going on from the video.
This morning Sarah and I took advantage of the fact that there was no one else home and no neighbors to BLAST fun dance music as loud as her speakers would go and have a dance party. She also showed me some videos she has of Batuka, which is Spain's version of Zumba. We tried to do some of the dances, but it's exhausting! My body hurts.
We also went to a district of the city where all the walls are decorated by murals, grafitti, and street art. Some grafitti is really stupid, like when they just tag their name or something. But when they put so much time and talent into a sweet mural, it's awesome.
Anyways, Europe is awesome. That is all.
You need to watch the movie LES INTOUCHABLES!!!
